Women's Health Occupational Therapy

It has been estimated that more than 20% of women will experience pelvic pain and up to 50% will experience a form of incontinence, at some point in their lives. Incontinence is NOT a normal part of aging despite what most women are often told or led to believe.

Women of all ages may experience symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction. Muscle incoordination, too much muscle tension, and weakened or absent muscle contraction may create urinary issues, bowel issues, sexual issues, and pain syndromes. In order to determine the root cause of YOUR particular symptoms, Abdominopelvic Health dedicates extended evaluation time and encourages thoughtful discussion with the client to determine the most effective holistic plan of care.

One plan does not fit all!

Pelvic muscle dysfunction can be embarrassing and thought of as a distressing subject for clients to discuss with physicians or even trusted confidants. If you are experiencing feelings of anger, shame, anxiety, guilt or having difficulty engaging in your day to day activities, and being truly present during important personal interactions, beloved hobbies, and previously enjoyed social situations, we can help. Our treatment sessions ensure the consideration of all aspects of your condition be addressed in a tranquil and private environment. In addition to occupational therapy services, we offer wellness plans, healthy and safe exercise recommendation, guided imagery/relaxation techniques, and collaboration with additional healthcare providers to offer comprehensive and integrative care. It is our goal to help you reach your goals and offer wholesome healing for the mind, body, and soul.
